Oláh, D. (2018). The forgotten concepts of economics: land and annuities in the 21st century. Modern Geográfia, 13(4), 1–14.

According to several models in modern neoclassical economics the two major factors of production are labor and capital. This seemingly useful simplification is the innovation of neoclassical economics: thinkers of the 18-19th century considered land as a central concept of their analysis. This study analyzes the frontier theories of economics and geography in a historical context and poses the question of how land disappeared from economic theories and whether it appeared in economic geography. It argues that land is crucial in understanding inequalities because of its locational value. The conclusion is that every economic theory has a parallel theory in economic geography and the imperialism of neoclassical economics also appeared in economic geography.
