Nezdei, Cs. (2014). Catchment areas of the first secondary school of Kaposvár between 1812 and 1927. Modern Geográfia, 9(3), 55–76.

Nowadays the researches on the catchment areas are mainly made by complex approach and usually focusing on only one town. In contrast of these statements in my research I strive to the fullest extent possible inquire into the characteristics of the educational catchment areas of Kaposvár’s first high school in the 19th century and the time of the turn of the century—as the town is the county seat of Somogy county. The main purposes of the analysis is to observe the changes in the number of the students after the different changes took place in the high school’s life and to explore what are the reasons for these changes. The study applies the approach of absolute terms to analize six model academic year in the high school and also intends to estabilish correlations between the territorial aspects and the number of the students in some school years.
